State Street Global Advisors Appoints Sonia Gogna to Loability-Driven Investing Team

02/01/2007

LONDON, 2 January, 2007 – State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management arm of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), today announced the appointment of Sonia Gogna as product engineer within the Liability-Driven Investing (LDI) team. She will report to Joseph Moody, head of Liability-Driven Investing for SSgA.

Gogna joins from Watson Wyatt, where she was a senior investment analyst specialising in asset-liability modeling, derivative modeling and asset allocation advice.

“Sonia has extensive experience in modeling derivatives, risk budgeting and development of asset strategies to help mitigate inherent duration, inflation and other risks,” said Moody. “Our LDI business is rapidly expanding, and Sonia’s range of experience and expertise will provide the perfect complement to our existing team.”

SSgA is at the forefront of LDI, having pioneered the first pooled structures for pension funds using SWAPs. The team’s Pooled Asset Liability Matching Solution (PALMS), which is a family of commingled investment pools that can help plan sponsors manage exposure to changes in interest rates and inflation, offers a natural investment hedge to pension liabilities and can be implemented in U.S. dollars, Euros and British pounds.
